Mota-Engil expands its activity in Latin America

After intense work for around two years identifying opportunities, studying and participating in tenders for projects, Mota‑Engil Group obtained the coveted award of its first contracts in three new markets: Chile, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay.
In Chile, Mota‑Engil won its first contract to carry out repair works in the Port of Antofagasta, the country’s second region, located 1,400 km from Santiago de Chile, with the contract amounting to 5.8 million euros.In the Dominican Republic, Mota‑Engil will participate in the project to build Ciudad Juan Bosch, where the company ensured a contract for the construction of 1,704 apartments, amounting to 41.8 million euros with an 18-month construction period.In the first half of the year, Mota‑Engil signed a contract with the Ministry of Public Works and Communications that consists in designing and building the public passenger transport system Asuncion y San Lorenzo – BTR Project (BUS de Transito Rapido – Bus Rapid Transit – Central Corridor: Stretches 2 and 3). This project will have a contract value of 45.6 million euros and a completion deadline of 22 months.
By obtaining the new contracts, Mota‑Engil Latin America now operates in seven of the region’s countries, continuously materialising its ambition as a regional player in the construction and infrastructure management industries.
