The ecological restoration and enhancement of natural capital project consisted of the installation of a microforest, inspired by a combination of styles between the Miyawaki method and those of ecological restoration, based on Nature-based Solution (NbS).
The initiative started in January 2023 with the first volunteering action, followed by four actions in which the planting process continued.
The technical component was provided by Natural Business Intelligence (NBI), which developed the project for a microforest, defining seven natural habitats to be restored, and by Mota-Engil ATIV, which facilitated procurement and execution, with support on the ground and monitoring of volunteer actions promoted by FMAM and carried out by employees of the Mota-Engil Group, in Portugal.
