Incorporation of ballast removed from the railway track

In the Beira Alta Line Project (MEEC/MERW project), in Mangualde, Portugal, 104,086 tons of ballast removed from the railway track were incorporated. This material underwent a crushing operation to be incorporated into the construction site and was reused in the crowning layer, in technical blocks, paving and drains. The final destination of this material would have been the valorization by an external entity or elimination.
